How Furniture Retailer Made.com Utilized their Branch IT as a Customer Experience Asset

Find me on:

The London-based retailer Made.com was founded with one goal in mind: to offer great furniture & interior décor designs directly from the makers. By using the latest advances in omnichannel retail, they hoped to apply the economy of scale in manufacturing, bringing down prices across their entire range.

As a growing business with an ambitious goal, they recognized the need for a versatile IT system that would facilitate a smooth customer experience, whilst providing consistency across multiple branches.

At the time, the company had two offices – one in London and Shanghai – and so the solution scope included installation of systems that would ensure consistency and efficiency of operations across two major office locations using a Hybrid Cloud environment, and including policy and desktop management. Alongside this, MADE needed new fiber connectivity to support the growth of network traffic.

Beyond the technical aspects, they were looking for a trusted provider to take ownership of the day-to-day running and updating of the IT systems, ensuring that everything was running securely, and in sync with the business. This would allow the staff at Made.com to focus more of their time and effort on their ongoing IT strategy, including new ways of cutting costs and waiting times for consumers.

To address these requirements, MADE.com’s trusted service partner deployed Zynstra’s Hybrid Cloud technology in the two main locations, all packaged with Easynet fiber connectivity.

The system provides secure access for all employees and devices within the organization, maintaining local control of user privileges, a high degree of resilience and scalability to support future growth. Resilient hardware, monitoring, storage, local and cloud back up, disaster recovery and end to end support of all client devices and the network are all included within the monthly subscription fee.

Hybrid Cloud combines the best of the Cloud – remote access, disaster recovery and backup and simple management, with the best of local IT – supreme security, the fastest access to local data, flexibility and control.

  • Scalable, resilient Hybrid IT
  • Multi-site employee access with onsite control of user privileges and policy
  • Predictable and manageable costs
  • Companywide consistent and efficient IT operations
  • Helpdesk support of client devices (PC and MAC OS) and network
  • Fully managed service including updates, patches and hardware replacement
